About Us

In 1990 I began my career as a classroom teacher.  I worked to help high school students succeed in the classroom and on the playing field and I did that for several years but by 1995 I began to focus on helping individuals and families.  Ultimately I became interested in helping people with their personal and emotional concerns that often left them feeling powerless and alone.

In 1999 I began my PhD at McGill University in Education and after I graduated in 2001 I was appointed an Executive Director at McGill.

In 2003 I went overseas and did work in East Asia and studied local culture and values and got a lot of perspective on some very diverse cultural differences and I began to focus on helping specific people.

Now I work with adults, youth, and children on issues that include relationships, schooling, anxiety, trauma, or addiction and I often help people through times of crisis, significant life transitions, or emotional distress.

I use a number of therapies but focus primarily on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Trauma Therapy, and Mindful Meditation.

I am a member of The Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists and I currently live in central Mississauga with my wife and two children.

Paul W. Clark, PhD

I began my career as a social worker at a hospice where I helped to support individuals struggling from a terminal illness. I also helped families cope with grieving a loss.  Relatively, I became passionate about helping individuals and families who were consumed with grief and bereavement issues that often left them feeling depressed, extremely sad, guilty, isolated and hopeless.

Respectively, I worked in the paediatric and palliative care units at the Brampton Civic Hospital with children, adults and seniors faced with physical and emotional difficulties.  From here on, I was sure that I wanted to pursue a career where I can work with people and help them to cope with their personal life struggles by offering them alternatives and options that will guide them towards living a satisfying and meaningful quality of life.

Additionally, I worked at the Peel HIV/AIDS Network where I facilitated a support group with persons living with HIV/AIDS.

In 2008, I began a certificate program in Advanced Counselling Skills.  My experience in the program helped me to enhance my knowledge and skills in effective communication.

In 2010, I completed my internship at the Centre for Education and Training where I worked closely with informational counsellors to provide assistance and support to new immigrants who were experiencing difficulties in integrating into Canadian Society which lead them feeling powerless, fearful, anxious and lost.  During my internship, I was offered the duty of program management.

I am focussed on helping people struggling from personal distress, such as: grieving a loss, depression, social stress, feeling overwhelmed with the pressures of daily life and self-esteem problems.

I use different techniques that suit the individuals’ needs, but I focus primarily on the Holistic Approach to care which focuses on the body, mind and spirit, Music Therapy, Art Therapy and Play Therapy.  I also strongly believe in the Client-Centred Approach.

I am a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
